Welcome to Earth Walker Primitive Survival

Welcome to my blog. I am Sgt. Speakman, founder of Earth Walker Primitive and Earth Walker Creations. I created this blog as a place to post my survival ideas, lessons and philosophy for my followers to view and comment and learn.

EWP is a survival philosophy involving both modern and primitive methods of self reliance. This blog is for all those who either camp, hunt, hike, are into scouting, love being outdoors or just plain want to learn and know what to do if found in a survival experience.

Hope you enjoy.

Feel free to email questions, comments and even share your own experiences, skills and tricks of the trade with me. If there is anything you wish me to answer or discuss or do a lesson/video on please email me at earthwalkerprimitive@yahoo.com

Intro to Earth Walker Primitive

Greetings. I been trying to come up with my first blog for this. So what I have decided was to put up the preface to my book, "Sergeant Speakman's 6 H's of Survival" that I am currently in the proccess of writing.

The preface of my book details the philosophy of my outlook on survival and turning a survival emergency into a servival experience. My book folows my concept of the 6 H's of survival which I will go over in an upcoming blog. I felt, however, that the best intro to this blog would be thes exert from my book to lay down the baseline of my ideals.

So here it goes:

"In my opinion survival is partly skill, knowledge and partly luck but mostly, the will to survive. Many times in the news you hear of people surviving harsh situations by strictly not giving up and refusing to die. Men and women of little knowledge or skill if any lost or stranded in the elements with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and yet they refused to allow their situation to win. Perseverance and a will to survive brought them home to safety.
Today in this world we have it so easy as humans in a modern civilization. We have our houses built to code, included with heat, air, running water and all the comforts we are used to having because that’s the way it has always been in our lifetime. We have clothing designed for all four seasons, cars with heat and ample means to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Food, grown on farms, harvested, butchered, canned bottled and processed for us. Some money in your pocket and a quick drive to a grocery store or a restaurant and you easily have a feast with little or no effort or labor at all. We have tools that build the machines that build the tools in the factories that make every implement, tool or device we need to make our modern lives simpler and more comfortable. Modern human is all about comfort and ease.
Take your normal average modern human and take away all these elements listed in the paragraph above and you usually end up with one lost confused individual. Such is what happens in most survival cases. It is that loss of the norm or what is always readily available that makes a situation an emergency. It is how the individual moves forward with themselves in an emergency that can determine if they are a survivor or a victim. Whether the person survives or fails is based on a combination of health, knowledge and knowhow, luck but mostly their mind state and will to survive.
The average person will merely think about what they lost and no longer have available or the lack of creature comforts they have lost and adopt a defeatist attitude. This attitude is what will surely lead to a deadly outcome in a survival situation. Look back beyond the colonial periods, beyond the Roman Empire even beyond most ancient civilizations. Examine the Native Americans, the Inuit tribes, the hunter gatherer barbaric tribes of northern and western Europe that the Romans came in contact with. As well as the jungle tribes that still live untouched or influenced by modern society for thousands of years in the South American jungles and in Africa. These peoples, whether from ancient times and a long lost place in history or still thriving today have one thing in common. They are all primitive in their lifestyle and life sustaining methods. Without tools made by machines, clothes made seasonally in a factory and houses built to specs these people lived for thousands upon thousands of years, happily and prosperously with nothing more then what they could obtain and maintain from natural resources on mother earth.
Being stranded on an island, lost in a mountain wilderness or stuck in the middle of a desert does not make you lost or in danger for your life. It may be an emergency in terms of the modernized world but if you simply transform yourself from that modernized human lost without your substance and become that primitive man you would notice that you are not in as bad as a situation as you thought. Your will to live and fight the emergency is easier when you recognize that thousands upon hundreds of thousands of people lived just as you are at the moment; with nothing more then what you can find on the ground, in the trees, in the water and in the wild. There is no climate on this world has not had a primitive society survive and live upon its ground. If you transform from modern victim to primitive survivor your outcome for survival will highly increase.
This is the purpose of this Survival guide. To help you understand that in any circumstance, any climate, and any element one can survive successfully reverting back to primitive ways. Fusing both modern and primitive methods for survival living, this book will give one a knowledge based motivation to achieve that will to fight, survive and turn their modern emergency into a primitive survival story.
People fear things that they do not know or know about. Like the child scared to look under his bed at night because he fears what he doesn’t know is there. When in a survival situation fear of failure and death can make your emergency outcome grim. The information contained in this book will help you defeat that fear, so if needed you will remember the thousands who lived before you in a primitive way just as you are. You will then have that will, that strength that courage to stand and fight your emergency and turn it into a survival story. With the proper knowledge and the right mindset you can turn a survival emergency into a survival experience and come out a stronger wiser person in life."
